Elmet Driver Training is working closely with the local MP and a supermarket distribution centre in Sherburn In Elmet to get local people into local employment.
Newly qualified drivers who obtain their C+E LGV licence with EDT will be given a special stamped application form from the training company, to apply for a LGV driving position at the distribution centre. |
Elmet Driver Training is a local family business specialising in LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) / HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) driving instruction and certification, run by husband and wife team, Paul and Joanne Walker.
The company is based in the heart of the industrial area in Sherburn in Elmet, which is situated just off the A1 between Leeds and York in North Yorkshire.
Paul has been driving trucks for over 20 years, and has driven vehicles as varied and diverse as artics, rigids, curtainsiders, hiabs, tippers, gritters and snowploughs.
Paul was previously working as a LGV instructor for another training company. After instructing with them for a few years he decided the time was right to form his own training company. He is keen to pass on his vast knowledge and experience to you throughout your training.
It is now legal in this country to drive a truck at 18 years old.
At Elmet Driver Training Ltd we want you to enjoy your training:
- The training will be conducted in a relaxed and friendly environment.
- Your training will be on a 1 to 1 basis - just you and the instructor
- Training is normally a full day 9.00am - 3.30pm, but can be flexible to suit your needs.
- If you are enjoying your training, you will learn quicker!!
